If you make this again, try putting it into a plastic lidded container to dry slowly. Helps prevent cracking. Also sometimes with slab items I sandwich them between two pieces of drywall. They dry more slowly and are less likely to warp. I've had so many things crack. It's getting better, though!

Yes to the magic box!  I have one now at home.   Re: sandwiching ... is that possible with curved pieces?  It's hard to tell in the photo but the edges turn up slightly so it's not completely flat top to bottom.
