various clay bodies heavy reduction fired march 2015

curt

all fired in Freo kiln

left pot is standard pb 103 cone 9 10 stoneware clay. raw fired.

middle front pot is pb103 clay dirtied up with some native materials but not too much iron. lots of flint, chert, etc. came out a lovely sandstone color with lots of surface color variation.

right pot is pb103 stoneware recycled with 2% iron oxide coloring in the clay, it is probably a bit darker and more chocolatey than terra cotta. this pot has no glaze on it, other than the "necklace" around the base of the neck.

pot in back middle partly visible has srs glaze developed using currie grid tiles.
