ronfire
All the pieces came out intact and did not appear to have problems with bubbles . I fired the sitter with a cone 6, the witness cone 6 was just slight bent and the 5 was bent over and touching the base, the 7 was not deformed at all. Should I try and up 1 cone or just slide the cone in the sitter slightly to the thicker side. I am worried it I use a 7 in the sitter it will be over fired. Or am I best to leave it alone as the glaze did not give me issues. I find it impossible to see the cones during firing even with welder goggles. I can see the if they are outlined against the elements but that is almost impossible to set up in the kiln. The gold spectrum glaze was not great on looks. The inside looked like cheap gold paint but the outside had more of a bronze colour that looks better. My thought is the inside had more glaze to make it look different. neilestrick
You can try adjusting the cone like you said, or you can adjust the sensing rod claw if you're familiar with that process.
ronfire
I will try the cone first on my next bisque fire if that is not enough I might tweak the claw just a hair.
