GiselleNo5
Does anyone do slab building with low fire clays? Presently I'm using AMACO #67 and seeing ocassional cracks drying. Someone said it is because of its high shrinkage, on another forum. Othrs said I should try a high grog clay. What are others using in slab building? I have done slab building with low fire clay and I had trouble with cracking, sagging and warping when I built my tissue box covers. Since then I have switched to WS-5 which is quite grainy, and had much better results. I am firing to ^5 now but I think it would be fine used at a lower temperature if for decorative use.
