Babs
Just yellow iron oxide and water! That is what I call a wash. Apply to leather hard clay or just thrown, your choice Test the intensity on some test tiles. Then there is slip, where the oxide is mixed with a clay slip , most successful if made with the slip of your clay body, and again, test the intensity you are looking for. COuld also be mixed with a lighter clay but you would have to experiment with the shrinkage factor in mind. Some fo;ks add a f;ux but with iron I have not found this essential.
