Terracotta clay with oxides

I would like to colour terracotta clay with oxides, what is the outcome thereof and what quantities should be mixed? The colors I'm looking for should be dark and intense to be used with plain terracotta clay in combination, like wedge wood jasper ware.

Josiah Wedgewood spent many, many years testing to produce Basalt ware. you are probably not going to get much of an answer here. sorry.
