Pink Glaze

Recommended Posts

to start you use tin in the base and chrome as the colorant. Go to Clayart archives, MCG and also Digital fire website has a good experiments description. If you read that, you should be able to formulate a pink glaze to your clay and temperature range. I have seen chrome reds as low as ^09 and pinks as high as ^10.

chrome tin pink or red is one of the fun things possible in cone 6 electric or oxidation - one classic recipe is:

>Chrome /tin cone 6 (red/burgundy)

>Gerstley Borate 21

>Neph sy 16

>Kaolin 11

>whiting 20

>Silica 32

>

>Tin 5

>Chrome ox. .15 (yes point15)

>ron can you recalculate without GB or with sub

the tin of 5.0 and chrome of 0.15 is typical
