clay body confusion

I'm using a bag of clay that's labeled Mark's White Stoneware- grey bodied when wet and it's said to fire white at cone 10, but so far each time I fire it it comes out pale pink. I called the manufacturer and she said it's firing pink buff because I'm under firing it. Is it possible for it to fire buff at a lower cone 04/03 temp? I'm not convinced that it is what is says it is and am worried the store I purchased it from mislabeled it and it's really a raku buff clay that I don't want to take to the high fire range. I fired one piece of it to cone 6 with a glaze and the only exposed area (the bottom) still looks desert buff and some stress areas showed up in the body of the clay that weren't apparent at the cone 03/04 temp. I plan to stop using the clay but have already built some great pieces before I realized it might not be the clay I think it is.
