Sherspots
I love the look of the arts and crafts style pottery. The decorating on the pot is slight and graceful, showing nicely under the glazes. I read some about the history but have yet to find anything on how this is done. I understand that coils are involved. Are there any books or websites that illustrate and explain this decorating technique? Thanks.

There are so many "Arts and Crafts" styles .... but I bookmarked this YouTube clip some time ago and hope it will be useful to you Christine
Marcia Selsor
There are many site with the names of the potteries like North Dakota School of Mines, Grueby, Newcomb, Ban Biggle, Rookwood, etc. Often the studio photos will show women decorators. There were factories with division of labor. Also the decorating was very labor intensive. Ceramics at the Women's University in ST. Louis was taught by Adelaide Robineau, Editor of Keramos Magazine in Syracuse and Taxile Doat of Sevres Porcelain Factory in Paris. There is a lot of information out there but maybe not as much online. Marcia
