PotsbyChar
When using a crushed paper armature to form a sculptural clay form onto, would it be possible to leave the paper in place and burn it out during the bisque firing? or would this damage the piece? I have just finished forming a sculptural dolphin teapot over some crushed paper and was hoping I won't have to cut it in half to get the paper out. As always any advice is greatly appreciated...Thanks in advance. Charlotte
bciskepottery
The paper will burn out during bisque with no problem; there will be some ash residue, though. If the item is fired at a studio, let them know.
