frankoenig
I’ve just watched Martha Costello’s clay mono printing. Can anyone tell me what stops the clay “painting” from falling off the cloth ? Do you have to seal it (with what) or put it behind glass? thanks in advance. Min
Hi and welcome to the forum! Mitch Lyons, the man who came up with the clay Monoprint process spoke of using a charged material to hold on to the pigments. In this article he tells of how he spent years working on the process before coming up with Reemay landscaping fabric as his choice. In the article the author speaks of Lyons process and of using a clear water based spray sealant. If you google Mitch Lyons there are many videos describing his process plus on Mitch Lyons website there is a DVD and a book from him on the topic.
