PottaFella
Thinking my throwing life would be cleaner and easier if I had a large, wide, deep, one-piece splash pan for my Shimpo so I could just wipe round the whole diameter in-situ quickly with a sponge (an outlet hose would make it even better!). Of courses it would need to fix solidly down to the wheel somehow. The standard two-piece pan slots into a chamfered alloy plate (a part of the direct-drive motor I think). I know some potters will be thinking they mange even without a splash pan, but that definitely isn't me! Along with that, if the main shaft had an extension (say a few inches long), that would raise the wheelhead, allowing a much deeper splash pan meaning less frequent cleaning out.
