https://sculptober.com/ provides prompts for each day of the month in October, and my partner thought it would be a wonderful way of getting me back into sculpting in general. I have decided to only use ceramic clay versus doing pieces in ceramic or polymer clay to give myself more of a challenge.

For the first prompt, Mermaid, I decided instead of doing a regular humanoid with a fish tail to do a "reverse mermaid", a fish with human legs. Then it devolved from there since I thought arms would be fun too. The clay I used is Standard Clay Company's 266 Umbria, so they will come out quite dark. -
