I recently had a mug come out of a soda kiln with heavy carbon trapping. When I washed it (in the dishwasher), parts of the originally black finish is now speckled in white. The parts of the mug that didn’t get the heavy carbon trapping are fine. can’t figure out what happened. I’ve never had any soda fired pieces change in the dishwasher before. Does anyone know what may have happened here?

This is what the other side of the mug looks like—this part was unaffected by the dishwasher: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1U0bId6ysn-o3cTKwO4i-HvstpYWgWTQf/view?usp=drivesdk
Any thoughts about what happened here is appreciated! Thanks!
