I havent run it yet. Im waiting on 04 cones and the sitters metal prongs had to be replaced so those just came yesterday. I will be running cones, but also using a pyrometer. I bought one before I got this kiln, I am also building (or amassing all of the parts) for a gas kiln,

How do you all sell your work? I want a secure site that gets traffic. the only thing that comes to mind is etsy and I havent had a ton of success with them.

I have just gotten an old skutt 181 and am wondering how to determine the firing schedule. I am running seattle pottery ckk6 mostly all my clay is a cone 4-6 though my instructor said that the clay sometimes sticks to itself at 6. I need to do a bisque to cone 04 and a glaze firing at cone 6 glaze. please help i want to have as good an outcome as I can. thank you

Thank you for the calculation. my husband says cross draft or downdraft we are still finding that out. downdraft was the original plan but hubby is looking at cross draft because of the chimney.

I am building a kiln that's body is a Seattle pottery supply 25-inch oval, I am turning it into a gas kiln vs the electric that it is now. How do I calculate the size of the chimney that I am creating? I am probably using fire brick. I figure the brick near the opening needs to be the kind that can withstand the kiln temps, can the rest of the chimney be made with the lower temp fire brick? There is a price difference and the difference of shipping as well.

I just got a 25" X 30 inch oval kiln. I am changing it from its broken electrics to propane. I am trying to decide what size bottles to purchase and could also use a little help deciding how many burners it needs, my husband thinks maybe four but I worry that might be too many. I could also use reccomendations.
