Fantastical I

NDoherty

Here is a piece I finished in 2011: "Fantastical I"

I don't do traditional pottery per se but I am interested in it and will be working towards that. As of right now, my pieces are one off, hollowed body, whimsical creations... and I wanted to share them here with you all.

Comments, questions, feedback or any kind is appreciated.

Thanks.

It looks fantastical. Like some weird creature from the depths of the ocean,

or like a part of a horny mythical beast.

Did you use paperclay or just ordinary clay?

I assume it is very fragile.

Thanks Frederik.

I used ordinary clay. Something called Vashon White I purchase at Seattle Pottery Supply. Fires between Cone 04 and Cone 6. It's the same clay I have used for all my other pieces as well.

Glad you enjoy the piece!
