It has 4 burners and is about 27"x28x26 Does it matter that the thermocouple is inserted towards the top of the kiln? should I bring it down? The more info , the more control. never fired gas glaze kiln with only a thermocouple. use cones in all peeps. They will differ from the thermocouple. I guess you can learn to fire that way. When getting to know a new kiln it is best to put cones all over the place to know where the heat goes. you don't need to do that for ever..just the first few firings..maybe change staking patterns to see what happens. you will get to know how it works.
