Diane Puckett
I just glaze fired a cone 6 Frost porcelain pot where the outside of the pot has multiple layers of black LUG, painted on both greenware and bisque. I don't want glaze on the outside, but I am wondering if the LUG needs something to protect it. Can I assume it is vitrified and reasonably sturdy? When it was just bisqued, it picked up fingerprints if I touched it. I am hoping it is more stable now.
neilestrick
It's fused, so you don't have to worry about it rubbing off or anything like that. Should be fine. Just make sure there's no food contact, as it's not food safe without a glaze over it.
