Cone 6 Slip ?

I would love to get the sandy speckled look of a cone 6 clay in my slip casting.  is there a good receipe for a speckled buff slip for cone 6 firing out there that costs less than buying the bland stuff at my ceramics store?

Thank you!

You might want to slip cast first then make a slip out of the casting slip with a fine grain sand added and a touch of iron oxide for color and spray this onto the cast piece for sandpaper texture.

Check over at the Mesa art center, they might have a spray gun and someone willing to help.
