Pugaboo
I tried doing a search here as I know different websites for getting materials has been discussed before but can't find what I am looking for. I need an online source in the Southeast US to buy the raw materials needed for glazing, slips, etc. I've looked at a few located elsewhere but the shipping is really high due to the weight of materials. I am in Georiga so someplace close to me would probably be my best option to save some on the shipping. I should also note I am rather limited in driving distance so going down to Atlanta isn't an option. Thank you T
bciskepottery
I purchase most of my glaze materials from U.S. Pigment. Good prices and the owner is really efficient in packing to get the lowest possible shipping cost. I've found their prices to be low enough that it still saves me $$$ even after shipping. I try to buy my clay and bulk materials in one big shipment; the supplier I use (Baltimore Clayworks) delivers to the house (and unloads into the garage) for a reasonable fee (well worth the time driving to/from and sore back from loading/unloading my car). Buying in bulk -- 50 lbs of silica, for example -- is not going to be cost effective with shipping for single items.
