What We’re Looking For:

We’re searching for a career-driven ceramic artist with a passion for pottery and an eagerness to grow. Here’s who you are:

• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience with clay. Your passion and basic mastery with clay is more important than having extensive experience in throwing big pots.

• Physical Strength: Ability to lift 70+ pounds comfortably.

• Team Player: You bring a positive, humorous and easy-going attitude and thrive in a collaborative environment.

• Focused & Curious: You can give projects sustained focus, tackle challenges with creativity, and have an eye for detail. You have a desire to learn and you want to see projects through from start to finish.

• Flexible: You have an ability to adapt. You're open to flexing your hours to meet the studio's workflow and help with special events.

• Committed to Growth: You want to grow artistically and professionally, and you're in it for the long haul (3-5 year commitment).

• Legally Authorized to Work in the U.S.: You must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

• Production (80-85% of your time):
  You’ll spend most of your time throwing vessels during your four day workweek, using studio tools to maximize efficiency. You’ll also help with:

  • Organizing studio operations for optimal production.

  • Loading/unloading the kiln.

  • Supporting the team to maintain the studio's high standards.

  • Firing the kiln.

• Studio Maintenance (10-15%):

  • Keeping the studio clean and organized.

  • Ensuring supplies and tools are in stock and equipment is in top shape.

  • Managing clay recycling and prepping the space for events and workshops.

• Coordination (5-10%):

  • Participate in bi-weekly production meetings and end-of-week reviews to keep the studio’s workflow smooth and efficient.

  • Meet to review progress, obstacles and troubleshoot

  • Engage in regular seminars/workshops to sharpen your skills.
