It all depends on how much it's been fired. I've got a 40 year old kiln in my studio that's never been fired, and I have a 13 year old kiln that's been fired more than 2200 times. The kiln in your photos looks great, assuming the lid and floor slabs are not cracked.

Something that is reassuring, as well, in the photos, is that all of the elements are still seated in the grooves. As the elements and kiln ages, without proper maintenance, it’s possible for the elements to sag out of their placements. This usually won’t cause any issues, unless the element breaks, but it’s another helpful tip in determining kiln age/use/life-left.

@MmThomp Are you looking to track pieces through the process so that you easily find a person's piece when they come to pick it up after firing? Is this a paint-your-own type business where you have different people coming in every day, or a studio where you have folks signed up for a multi-week session?

The business has both, but the multi-week is kept in a separate section. I am mainly looking for the paint-your-own type solutions. We are currently using Wix and their workflow system is a bit convoluted. Thank you!

@kswan Actually, using Trello just for a production list is perhaps under utilizing the software. Using it to keep track of special orders is probably a better use of it.

Do you think this would be beneficial in a paint-a-pot setting? We have been struggling with our current workflow system, and I am researching alternatives currently.

    Thanks!
