Does it not interfere with that aluminum foil hat you wear to keep the creepies from reading your thoughts?

Holy cow! You kept the gun powder closer to the kiln?! Actually, don't you think it was a good thing that you were NOT watching your kiln?

I agree ... And the answer to 'why are your prices going up?" Is " Yes, my pots are a great investment aren't they?"

    1. Never trim the inside of a bowl. I don't do this often but recently tried it after watching the video of the potter trimming the large, porcelain bowl. It works.

    2. Never throw down. If a cylinder gets off-kilter or torqued, throwing down toward the wheel will often correct the problem.

Another myth: If you are right-handed, you must spin your wheel counter-clockwise, "because we said so!"
I would rephrase: "Because we, ourselves, don't know how to do it clockwise".

6-10 is too large of a maturity zone. If the manfacturer claims 6-10 it probably really matures at cone 10 and is not vitrified at cone 6. Does it stick to your tongue at all? I think you're in luck and all you have to do is take the advice above to get glaze on them and refire. But, firing to cone 6 is probably too low for that clay body and if you made a vase out of it and left it on a grand piano for a week it would leave a water mark.

That's an idea but I don't know where I'd put it in my studio, besides, people would think I'm weird and snakes would get in it.

The link isn't working for me so I feel like I am missing out. But i must say that I made the mistake once by throwing in a long skirt. (it wasn't a formal skirt, just like a long hippy skirt) It got all twisted in my kick wheel and in struggling to get it unwrapped I flopped the bowl I was working on. LMAO!!! Never again!!!

I find it easier anymore to sell to bee keepers. They do what you say, and I don't have to do shows.

Go one better I get the sets of bamboo kitchen tools, cut off the handles and make ribs out of the spoons, spatulas and forks. They need a little sharpening but the spoons make great bowl ribs.

Most importantly, remember to show up. I was supposed to demo on a wheel for a new gallery opening up in Denver many years ago and forgot about it. Several people were not pleased.

Many years ago when I was still doing shows, I had several queries about honey jars. After listening for a few years, and also having a request for a gift for a local guy that had bees, I made some. Many of the comments would mention that they would misplace the spoon/dauber or that they used them on the porch and bees or ants would be attracted even when the lid was on. I made some with these thoughts in mind, and sold great numbers of them. Over the years they have changed, but this example is one of the first years-a reject.
