Marbling Clay

When you are going for a marbled look by adding a mason stain to part of the clay, do you let the "dyed" clay sit for a period of time after mixing in the stain before wedging it?  If not, should it sit  before combining it with the other color clay?  Thanks in advance.

No, it does not need to sit or age after the stain is mixed into the clay.
