Thanks for the input. I've revised the poll accordingly.
  4. I recently returned from a trip to Panama and Columbia which I wanted to include pottery. But I lost my nerve. I did some research and to seek out local artisans it would have required traveling off the beaten path. In the future I will plan far enough in advance to build it in. It will help writing off some of my travel and be a great experience.

  6. As a newer potter, I've had the most success selling bowls. But I have taken classes and enjoyed the challenge presented making tea pots and throwing smaller pieces and using them to create a larger work.
  7. I'm writing a paper about craft artisan marketing and would like to initiate a discussion about various channels used to sell pottery. I've sold a few pieces in shared studio space and on Etsy. As a relatively new potter, the price point and timing drove my sales (less than $20 during the Christmas holidays). Please weigh in with the reason you have had more success selling your pieces in one channel than another.
  8. Hi All, I am currently working on a research paper on craft artists which requires data collection to earn my masters degree. The survey is only 10 questions and you can remain anonymous. If you are willing please complete the survey available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/JTBX6MM. Feel free to also pass it on to other practicing craft artisans. Your help is really appreciated. Thanks,
