  4. Convert Natural Gas Burner To Propane?

Sorry for the slow reply I've been away from home for a while. Thanks for the suggestions. The mixer's are brass. I'll try brazing with mapp or rent an oxy-acetylene welder. I won't be making the move for another month or so. I did find some inexpensive air mixers if it all goes wrong.
  5. Convert Natural Gas Burner To Propane?

Thanks. What would be the best way to weld it?
  6. Any suggestions on how to make the opening SMALLER without having to buy new air mixer pins? The tips on these are not removable. The only thing I can think of is to weld the hole shut then re-drill. Any other options? They are old venturi burners. Thanks, Paul
  7. I'm looking for a used gas kiln 15 to 60 cf in Northern California or Southern Oregon. Ideally downdraft but updraft will work too. Please let me know if you know of one for sale. Thanks, Paul
  8. Has Anyone Soda Fired With AN Updraft KILN? If so, how'd it turn out? Any tips?
  9. How Long Will Modern Pottery Last?

http://sciencelearn.org.nz/Contexts/Enviro-imprints/Looking-Closer/Measuring-biodegradability This says that modern glass will break down in about 1,000,000 years. You'd think cone 10 ceramic would be similar?
  10. Anyone know and have references to back it up? I have found that modern glass will last about 1 million years before it degrades but have found nothing specifically about pottery.
  11. Aerogel

It would be neat to have a see through kiln.

  14. Custom Stamp Source?

I was wondering if the piece you attached is ceramic or plastic. I looked at Blender but had a hard time thinking in 3 d for curved surfaces. Looks like shapeways would be good for straight sided logos or simple patterns. I've had good luck with silicone mold release as well as murphy's soap, what works good on these molds. Wyndham It's plastic- they list it as "strong flexible plastic." They have ceramic too plus 10+ other materials to choose from. My next order will be in stainless steel.
  15. Custom Stamp Source?

To save money you can make your own at shapeways.com. It's a 3d printing service. For a simple flat stamp you can upload a black and white image. You can also use 3d software to build more intricate stamps. I use Blender ( http://www.blender.org/ it's free open source software.) I've made stamps that cost as little as $2. The biggest stamp I've made is $29. Small press molds can be made this way too.
