  1. Periscope

GiselleNo5, I love watching potters on periscope. I watch it a lot. I am just a hobby potter and i have learned so much from periscope. I love the broadcasts that you do. By the way, broadcasts can be saved for more than 24 hours on www.katch.me. i dont know how it works but it is great to go back and review the scopes (hint, hint wish you were on katch)
  2. Has anyone had experience glazing pottery made from lace or doilies? If so, how did you glaze? Did you use underglazes? I think they could be very pretty if I could just figure out the best way (or different ways) to glaze them. I'd love to hear from anyone who has any suggestions. Would you underglaze first, fire it and then put a glaze on top? Thanks PS. I don't know where to post this question but I really wish the search feature would let you search on words less than 6 characters.
  3. What Do You Do With Your Pottery 'seconds'?

I would really love to see pictures of how he uses the pottery in the garden. Sounds like a cool idea.
  4. underglazes

Would any glaze other than clear allow a blue underglaze to show through? I added texture to a slab and then used blue underglazed and wiped some off to highlight the texture. Thanks.
  5. could you put a picture of it on here? I would love to see it.. Laurarose
  6. One was a plastic leaf mold, like a trinket size dish. Another one was made of wood (again like a candy size dish). Another one was some sort of plaster mold. I do OK except when it comes to getting an even edge and smooth edge at the top of the mold.. I've been using either a needle top or a knife at the top of the mold when I'm cutting off the clay to fit the mold(after patting down the clay and getting it to fit over the mold). Is their a trick to getting that last bit of clay trimmed off of the edge of the mold evenly? Do you get it smoothed down before or after you remove the mold? Thanks
  7. I'm fairly new to pottery. I've made a couple of handbuilt trinket type bowls lately by using a mold. But I'm having trouble getting the rims of my work smoothed out. What would be the best way to do this? Thanks!
