Biglou13
I was always taught to gradually in increments slab my roll my clay through slab roller. I'm now reading that some just go to thickness in one step? I'm referencing bailey and northstar both with 2 rolling cylinders. Have I been wasting my time doing it gradually? Mark C.
I have had a Bailey power slab roller (two rollers) for many years and always dial up whatever final thickness needed and roll in one pass. I do not do anything else and had zero issues. Most slabs are for backing dishes-square plates and one of a kind wall fish. Mark
GEP
I go straight to the finished thickness too.
PSC
Straight to what i need to. I think your method is more for one roller slab rollers cause you need to turn the slab and roll it again.
oldlady
have used my bailey since 1992 or so and always slap the clay onto a concrete floor before rolling it in one pass to the size i want. i have a northstar also and do the same. i have never tried to do the silly 4 inches to 1/4 inch shown in a bailey ad. that is asking for trouble.
