I have a casserole dish (I think it's stoneware) that has a large chip broken off the cover. There are no pieces missing so the chip fits perfectly on the cover. The stress of the heat and moisture leads to more cracking. You don't know the clay body type or how high it can be fired. Best to enjoy your casserole as it is now.
