Over the years I have explored a lot of functional forms trying to improve on them in their functionality and aesthetic. One of my favorites is the honey jar with the ceramic spoon that is attached to the bottom of the lid. I went through several different versions-starting with the standard slot in the lid with the wooden spoon. However, outdoors the bees and flies always went after it. So the lid had to be with not slot, and so how do you make a spoon. I tried and inverted handle idea, then an inverted handle with a pinch on one side so the form was a little neater. Then I ended with a closed knob longer than a closed handle. Then using a piece of thin pipe cut a groove in the knob with a hole for a drizzle pour. The form works well, and meets my need for looking good.

Does a sugar bowl and matching creamer count?   I made sets of dishes for handicapped people that had trouble eating off of regular plates.  Love your honeycomb pattern on your honey jar, pattern and grip.   Becoming a big fan of grip in my old age.     Denice

That honeycomb texture is from a silicone hotpad, they are all over the place. . . now, but when I first saw that I knew I  had to use one in the pots. Press it in before shaping to get a wide soft edged decoration.

I must be getting out of touch with current trends,  I have never seen the honeycomb hot pads or heard of fish pie.  Kansas doesn't have many lakes so fish isn't dominate in our diet.  Denice
