2014 Potters Council Juried Show

Recommended Posts

I am honored to have been invited to be the juror for the 2014 Potters Council Juried Show "Transcending Materials".

During my tenure as President of Potters Council, I was one of the facilitators of the first ever Potters Council Juried Show held during the Philadelphia NCECA ... so this show is always close to my heart!rolleyes.gif

Winning entries will be exhibited on the Vendors Floor during NCECA 2014 in Milwaukee. For those who have never had the chance to attend an NCECA conference, be aware that every attendee ends up in the Vendors area many times during the week so your work will be seen by all.

The theme is "Transcending Materials"

Potters Council Members are invited to go with your own interpretation of this theme. Our material world is filled with texture and tactile experience. As artists we are often drawn to an object because of our desire to experience the way the surface feels. Oil paint on canvas, lace on a coffee table, heavy draped upholstery, honeycomb, sunflowers. How can clay allow for this same sensory experience? Call upon old. new and innovative ways to manipulate clay in our ever-changing world.

Please consider submitting a piece of your work for jurying before the September 5 deadline.

This show has always been a wonderful tribute to the talented potters who make up the core of Potters Council.
