Iridescent glaze

The process of layering glazes is how you achieve an "iridescent" quality. Layering a stiff glaze, on top of a runny glaze, or vice versa, is the way to add complexity to your glazes.

The Amaco Potters Choice glaze page shows some examples of such combinations.

The one bummer, which requires testing, is that the runny glaze may run too much and you have glaze on the shelf.
