EEC
I am doing historical research into tile glaze composition, specifically related to Pomona Tile, but likely similar at other companies. I am trying to determine how much sodium nitrate (also called sodium niter, potash nitrate, niter soda, etc). might be on hand at a large operation, such as Pomona Tile had. It seems that it was commonly used in glaze. Does anyone have any information?
liambesaw
Looks like it's used as a flux for enamels because it prevents the oxidation of lead and antimony. https://digitalfire.com/material/potassium+nitrate I know the link says potassium nitrate but if you follow it, it mentions they were both used similarly
