Looking for Sibelco Clays (or equivlant substitue)

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I'm wondering if any of you know if Sibelco clay bodies are carried domestically (North America)? I've got emails out to the company but have yet to hear back and internet searches aren't seeming to turn anything up.

Also if anyone knows of a similar body to the Sibelco WMS 2002GG available from the usual suspects that would be super helpful.

Thanks!

Hi Nathan,

Data sheet on that clay available on Sibleco eu (Europe) site (the UK website does not list that clay):

http://ceramicbodies.sibelco.eu/en/product-finder/stoneware/plastic-bodies

As for usual suspects, here in CA there's Laguna and several smaller outfits that mix clays (I'm using Aardvark); my guess is you'd do better getting from suppliers near/in sweet home Chicago, perhaps pocket a sample of your rose-gray speckle and take a trip to Elk Grove Village (Ceramic Supply) and see what matches up?
