Mark C.
I stack my porcelain glasses (no handles ) both ways in a bisque but generally put the bottom down on a shelve that way they sit naturally . I do not get warpage in bisques fires
Callie Beller Diesel
I’ve stacked mug on their sides with no ill effects. The only time I get warping in the bisque is if I’ve done something that involves plastic memory during the forming stages, usually if I accidentally knock a rim during trimming. kraythe
If your wares are constructed properly any orientation will be fine short of sitting on their handles. However, if you have delicate parts beware that at firing temps they can slump if they have any pressure on me. I stack bisque firings like crazed jenga player. Glaze firings are another matter because of possibility of pottery freezing to the shelf or other pieces and the need for nice finishes.
