cambriapottery
How much gum should be added to glaze to toughen its strength and make it less powdery? Also does the glaze degrade quickly because of its addition?
neilestrick
Gum solution should be added when making the glaze. To make the solution, add 2 tablespoons of CMC Gum to 1 gallon of warm water. Also add 1/8 teaspoon of copper carbonate as a preservative. Let it sit overnight, then mix with a stick blender. Use the gum solution in place of approximately 1/3 of the water in your glaze. It will not affect the lifespan of the glaze.
