majolica line shrinking to dashed line

I am squeezing out a glaze formulated for majolica.

 

San Diego State U Majolica - C 6

Dolomite 2.3

Whiting 8.7

 Feldspar 35.8

EPK 5.8

Flint 35.7

frit 3124 10.5

Zircopax 1

Bentonite 2

Epsom salts 0.6

My thought would be it's going on too thick. I would try watering it down then, (if necessary) adding just enough more epsom salts solution to thicken it up enough to trail without it running off the pot.

Did you mean ^6 clay bisqued to ^04 or thereabouts? You are trailing on bisque, not a base glaze?

Is the effect you get similar to tube-lining (like Moorcraft style)? A recipe for the thick 'outlining' glaze, from a book of mine, haven't yet tried it--

36 kaolin

36 quartz

16 ball clay

4 whiting

4 standard boron frit

4 high alkaline frit

Thanks for sharing the recipe but looks like a  slip / engobe rather than a glaze.
