GEP Posted December 18, 2011 Report Share Posted December 18, 2011 I brought my little black Malcom Davis teapot to my class on Friday evening. We had thrown the parts to make a teapot the week before. We spent some time attempting to analyze why Malcolm's spout did not dribble at all, not even one tiny drop! Then we proceeded to assemble our teapots so they looked a lot like his, especially trying to emulate the spout. I bet we will all be learning from him for a long time. Chris Campbell Posted December 18, 2011 Report Share Posted December 18, 2011 The first thing I noticed about Malcolm was that he didn't act like he was MALCOLM DAVIS ... he was funny, kind and so generous with his knowledge. The NCECA speech we see quoted gave him fits as he was preparing it ... "what on earth am I going to say?" He was a great story teller and had such an interesting life that he had a ton of them. How awesome for one person's life to span from Nixon's 'enemies list' to the Queen of England to the genius of shino glazes? Though he gave the closing remarks in Philly, Seattle will be his NCECA.
