alabama 154 Report post Posted December 24, 2015 I came home from work to find a 20 inch diameter hickory tree across my chain link gate. I just thought I didn't have anything to do Christmas! I'll look for more stuff to do when the sun comes up. Damn gravity! See ya, Àlabama
Benzine 1,057 Report post Posted December 24, 2015 Alabama, I hope the damage is minimal, on your property, and area in general. We had decent thunderstorms here yesterday afternoon. That is quite odd for late December, as are the temperatures in the forties and fifites. It is most certainly NOT "Beginning to look a lot like Christmas...." Marcia Selsor 1,786 Report post Posted December 24, 2015 That is unfortunate but hickory is also a very excellent wood. Hope you can do something with it. Soaking the wood in water always easy bending. Maybe teapot handles? Glad you are safe. Marcia 2 Amy Eberhardt and Babs reacted to this

Callie Beller Diesel 1,713 Report post Posted December 24, 2015 Alabama, I hope there's no serious damage. It's snowing lightly here, with about 4" of snow on the ground, and it's -13 C (8.6 F). It's about as picture perfect for Christmas as one could wish. So of course my 4 year old daughter has the stomach flu. . Poor kitten.
Amy Eberhardt 56 Report post Posted December 24, 2015 Sorry to hear of the damage, Alabama! Hope it is minimal and doesn't hinder your plans to any great degree. It's a balmy 24F (-4C for my metric friends) with about a foot and a half of my beloved snow on the ground. Deer tracks everywhere! **Note to self....must get some cracked corn into the feeder for my furred and feathered friends** Hope everyone else is well and ready for the holidays. DirtRoads 235 Report post Posted December 26, 2015 Thanks for calling today Alice. I was south of the area hit by the tornado. Now, DHpotter is closer to the tornado zone. He's in Duck Hill. I know one large tornado was close but I don't think it was in his exact area. At least Alabama was spared damage to house or studio .... or to people or pets.
