Additions To July Qotw Re. Studio Space

Recommended Posts

could not post pictures well back when the question of the week was to show your working space so i just now put them in the gallery.  i thought i put them in a reasonable order so they would make sense but it is all messed up.  does anyone know how to arrange them in order so they go from delivering the shed to the end result?

 i messed up something else and lost the "recent status updates" entirely.  very hard to figure out how to USE this website.  see, john, i am a menace to soft and hard ware!

Not messed up at all. I could follow it and really liked your descriptions. Looks like a very efficient workshop. I will be moving mine workspace in 4.5 years. I could enjoy such a place as yours.

The big tree is a beauty. I will have to go back and try to identify what it is. This is a far cry from your other studio in Harpers Ferry, but you'll enjoy the warmer winters. Nicely done!

Your studio is beautifully thought out and so efficiently organized. It's a good lesson in working well in a small space .Each square foot seems to have a double-duty purpose.

Congratulations on having such a fine outcome to what must have been an enormous amount of work.    ps... The new work in your gallery is lovely.

thank you all for your comments.  it is wonderful that someone appreciates the photo story.  it has taken a few years to get it to what i have now but since i love most building houses and pots it seems a "labor of love" that pays off in the end.

marcia, i think the tree is a willow oak.  it is one of several large trees in the neighborhood that have been there a long time.  when i bought the lot, 78x114 feet, there were 5 major trees and many smaller ones on the lot that had to go.  some areas of the yard had never seen the sun before the tree cutters arrived.  there is another willow oak in the front yard.
