Some educational stuff here relating to Chawan...........

NCECA has the audio and PowerPoint content of my lecture at the spring 2015 annual conference held in Providence, RI up online now.  If you are interested in making Chawan for actual Tea Ceremony use....... this might be interesting for you.

Great information John.  I liked the explanation, between a yunomi and chawan.  I've seen both used, many time interchangeably.  So it's good to know the difference; something I can clarify with my students, whenever it comes up.

This was super important to me, along with the skill level required for these complicated Chawan. I had no idea that you had to be of higher education and skill to use a more diverse Chawan, pretty interesting stuff. I never thought of it like that, of course I have never been in a tea ceremony.
