  1. I'm new here! I am trying to start a small venture with my daughter, hoping to make what are called "cuerda seca" tiles. I see some companies making the patterns with a silkscreen, but by all the research i've done, it seems like using a colored wax resist (say, by Altofsa) will clog the screen up after only a few passes. Has anybody here make a successful wax resist that works well with silkscreening? I've heard everything from mixing wax resist with underglaze; mixing manganese (or stain) with linseed oil (stand oil); Some say to use frit; etc. Hhas anybody actually done this and achieved a line that holds strong enough to resist the colored glazes that are then filled in? And does the line actually adhere permanently with the bisque tile without bleeding, or flaking etc? thanks Michael

I am a beginner in the field of glazing , i want to make some tiles and i heard about a technique called cuerda seca mostly used on tiles work. i searched alot for the recipe or formula for the material used in this technique to be applied by silk screen but can’t get what am looking for, just found one product called artistic line resist but unfortunately it couldn’t be delivered to my country. so please if anyone could help me with that i will be so thankful, all i know about this material that it contains a bit of wax
  3. Hello everyone! I've been doing a lot of research on silkscreen printing for underglaze decals but I'm not finding much of anything for how to make gold luster decals. I understand that with underglaze screen printing you pour the oil+underglaze onto of the silkscreen to color the decal, but how on earth is this achieved for gold luster decals? If anyone has some advice, books, sites, etc that I can read on how to make this, I would be so grateful! Casi
