  1. Hi, I'm trying to get the elusive oxidation copper red with localized reduction glaze to work. Everywhere I look it suggests 600 mesh silicon carbide is necessary to get the localized reduction. The silicon carbide I have is 400 mesh. How can I increase the mesh of my silicon carbide?
  2. Hi all, I'm planning on building a hobby kiln for my partner, and am in the process of choosing refractory materials and kanthal wire for the heating element. Was hoping I could get some advice from anybody who knows about these things. I want the kiln to be light weight and very efficient. I'd like to use ceramic fibre board as an inner layer of insulation (rated to 1400 C / 2550 F), and calcium silicate board as a secondary layer (rated to 1000 C / 1830 F).   3. Has anyone used a pugmill to mix and extrude concrete before? I know pug mills are used in both ceramics and concrete industrial to make RCC and permeable concrete utilizing a paddle pugmill (at a much larger scale). But I didnt know if running a premix low slump through the pug would act as an ad hoc tybe extrusion for a unique concrete delivery experiment.
