From the album: Favorites
I don't make many teapots, but I had the idea for this teapot with a hollow wave cut out of the body. It was an experiment, and it's not perfect but I still really like this piece. Wheel thrown and hand built with applied engobe and underglaze, sgraffito and hand painted waves. Fired to ^6 electric.© Firenflux

This is a sculptural teapot by Helene Fielder. I had the pleasure of meeting her at the Tennessee Craft fair in Nashville over the weekend. This is NOT my work but is part of a community discussion forum. To see more of Helene's amazing work, go here: http://potterybyhelene.com/© Copyright Helene Fielder

From the album: Pottery 2016
White stoneware, thrown on the wheel as a "chopstick" jar and then altered into a teapot. I added the little hand-shaped flower knob. Handles coil and flattened. Spout wheel thrown. Fired at ^6 in an electric kiln. Laguna's Dynasty Red and Peach Blush, Duncan Concepts Bright Kiwi as the underglazed leaves and stems. This came out really nicely for a test set; next time everything is going to be bigger. I plan to make four cups and saucers, sugar, creamer, teapot, and a couple of serving platters. Maybe even a cake stand or two. We'll see.© Giselle No. 5 Ceramics 2016, all rights reserved

Laguna's Dynasty Red and Peach Blush, Duncan Concepts Bright Kiwi as the underglazed leaves and stems. There are some issues with it as a teapot. It's a bit thicker and more bottom heavy than I'd like. It's also smaller than I intended, only holds 16 oz. However, there are a lot of things I did right. The lid fits really nicely. The handle is comfortable for fitting all your fingers in and pouring even with the teapot ful© Giselle No. 5 Ceramics 2016, all rights reserved

From the album: My nautical stuff
another view of my nautical teapot. The top is a yo yo jar I threw in one piece without a bottom and then stacked after throwing the main body of the teapot. -
From the album: My nautical stuff
another view of my nautical teapot. I threw the spout and handle and pieced them together. I got some cracks in the seams of the bottom cut out so I keep this one for decoration. -
