Hi and thanks for having me in the forum. I am a total beginner and I was wondering how you achieve such a result (lots of tiny well formed bubbles and spikes). Are they totally handmade or is there some other process behind it? Are there any stamps or molds for it? thanks!

I have recently set up my new studio, but new to the world of selling my work. I have a small etsy shop, and have sold about 20 things....Trying to get more organized and professional with my branding, logo, presentation. I am not a potter, just tiles. I am developing a stamp to imprint on the back of my tiles (2-3" whole logo) and would also like to develop a small stamp (1/2- 3/4") for smaller tiles and something that might be visible on the front of some things. Is there a more official name for these little logo stamps? Ceramic marks? My question is this: How do I know if my logo is similar to others ceramic artists' stamps. Is there an archive somewhere, or do I need to go through copy write possess to find out? My proposed stamp is attached, as well as my logo for my shop "Cattail Tile" The stamp just takes the 2 T's ,and dots from the larger logo. It is not terribly unique or creative symbol, but I like it, and I figure it has to be simple to be recognizable so small. I tried a site that visually searches images for anything out there on the web, and it said my image was too simple to search. Ideas? Should I not worry about it and just do it? Does this symbol look familiar to anyone (other than it looking like the Pi symbol with 3 square dots) ?

Hello, I think this might be in the wrong thread but I have a problem and I'm not sure where to go for help. Today I accidentally broke one of my friend's artisan bowls. This is the symbol I found on the bottom but I can't identify it. I was wondering if anyone here might know this symbol and could direct me to a company or individual where these are made. I am located in Taipei, Taiwan, but this piece may not be from Taiwan. I want to buy a new one for my friend... hopefully before they notice that this one is missing! Thanks for any help.

I have been thinking of making a stamp for myself to use as my artists' mark on my work. I've been using a ballpoint pen to mark my work by just putting my initials and the year, but...that seems so lame. I think a wee guinea pig would be so much more fun. My little business is "The Earthen Cavy," and my moniker is "The Guinea Potter," so I think it would fit pretty well. How do you guys mark your work? Stamps? Initials? Monographic flourishes? (A cavy is a guinea pig. Useless trivia. )

My son works at an aquarium where there is 14 ft anaconda. It just shed its skin and my son has all 14 ft of it. It shed as a tube that has collapsed a bit. How can I make a texture pattern or stamp from this? Jed
