  1. Lol! I thought you meant reduction of teaching/learning rates! @neilestrickI forgot to mention that customer of yours.....that's CRAZY! How awfully backwards! Sorce
  2. They left the pyramids, and we are going to leave cheesy 3d printed garbage that you can buy at that store in the mall that sells hookas and 3 ft tall leopard statues for the house! For me, electricity is finite. It's not that I won't introduce technology, but I love the fact that you need absolutely nothing but things easily found in nature to make pots. You can paint with earth pigments and, in the right cave, maybe have it last forever, but nothing has the potential to last as long as pottery. If we respect this, old, natural art that is part of our evolution as humans, we can introduce technologies to our studios. If we don't respect this, it's not that we can't introduce technologies, but when the electricity goes out, those of us who do are stealing your customers! Hell with "copy and paste" "art". Technology is Finite. Sorce

I with you, but I do think the setting is increasing the contrast, and the less than pleasing look. On a white countertop it will probably look better.
  4. I believe there is evidence that it's not that bad for bad cholesterol. Sugar is worse! Sorce
  5. I been watching a lot of Jordan Peterson. Says his carnivorous diet of only beef and water solves problems. Best. Sorce
  6. I dropped a needle tool in my lap yesterday. To keep it from falling on the floor, I closed my legs real fast. Now there is a hole in my leg! But I the tool didn't hit the floor! Sorce
  7. 6 and 7's. 7 and 8's. 9 and 10's. Soldiers for a couple firings. Sorce
  8. I have a couple templates. I found plastic folders to be excellent material to cut for templates, just came into a bunch so....might make some more! Spending a life of building to exact standards has led me to enjoy eyeballing as much as possible, building things "into the air" as I call it, I was happy to find out the Japanese have a word for it. "Tatara". Sorce
  9. I paid $150 for the one above, in much nicer condition. It was a mad deal. Sorce
  10. Thanks for asking! I been meaning to keep better track! Good eye, I think this was the one reading 8.10! Sorce
  11. @Chillylove those! @liambesawhope your friend is riding again! I have been practicing my spiral wedging. I love it! I don't usually work with so much clay, but since these reclaim and body projects, I've had much to play with! Sorce
  12. Nice feet! Not the Red ones! Lol! Nice kiln though! Sorce
  13. Where are you located? I ask because there may be a way to be set up as a builder for Simon. Especially if you are on the west coast. Or Call it the Leech wheel! Lol! Get it...Leech!? Sorce
  14. I think I've read your Griffin gripes! I don't throw at all, but what makes the most sense to me, is this scenario where, one has a thousands cups to trim, a broken Griffin grip, and, well isn't this the perfect time!, An inability to get a new part or unit...... And not having that crutch makes you not able to pay rent, you lose your housing, end up divorced, and kicking a wheel somewhere in a shack In The woods, whistling primitive tunes, while learning to trim like a real potter! I personally, also find the sausages useless, or, crutchy... I wonder/know, that this product likely only exists because people don't keep their tools sharp enough. It's not like pots haven't been made for thousands of years without this. Only now that 8 of 10 humans are .... PC?...slow...ah... Such a strong opinion from a handbuilder! Hahaha! Sorce
  15. I read something about turning the grips around, sounds like a setup issue. I read something more valuable, about how this is a crutch and we shouldn't use it. Sorce
  16. New "scraps" shape. Best use of scraps yet! I have had a bunch of roof shingle pebbles coming out of my gutter, so I used it for grog in some reclaim. That oughta be interesting! Sorce
  17. Any water in the clay will have a fridge stankin too. Sorce
  18. Hey Brother! Great Advice here! 700miles ain't too far! I just drilled some brick to hold a flue wall in my gas joint. Reckon you can do the same to groove bricks. Drill 2 holes thru the entire brick, about 2-7mm of the face then saw cut out the top one to expose the channel to the kiln interior. Save the dust! Sorce
