  1. @ImogenBIf you use this you need a liner glaze. Sorry, I'm so used to using liners, I forgot to mention. Any clear cone 6-8 glaze would work. There are plenty in Britt's books.
  2. Here, I just came across this, looks nearly identical. I saw it and immediately thought of your posting. Give it a whirl and let us know how it comes out. https://glazy.org/recipes/2467 Also, You can probably squeeze this in a cone 8 load. If you want, I can make a test of it, Im getting rid of my last bit of HF clay, and don't have enough glaze for all the pieces
  3. That is most likely a stain or a very saturated cobalt. Most saturated cobalts are dark blue, I have never seen such a light blue like that with cobalt. Look at these mason stains below. https://www.theceramicshop.com/product/8693/delft-mason-stain-6320-1-lb/ https://www.theceramicshop.com/product/8703/copen-6368-mason-stain-1-lb/ https://www.theceramicshop.com/product/8682/vivid-blue-6306-1-4lb/ Note: Stain are usually between 3-10% in glazes. If you want to make (say a 5000g batch) you are better off getting 1 lb of stain, many people (myself included) often get 1/4 lb and it's a few grams off, and there is not enough for a batch.

    Crystalline Pottery

My crystalline pottery using my custom schedule and many of my own glazes (influenced by @glazenerd)

Test piece- need to figure out population
  6. From the album: Crystalline Pottery

I took a 2 inch chunk out of the back of this piece, threw it out right after the picture. Great gradient, though.
  7. Throwing wise- I like to throw a thick cylinder, push it out and then color in the next. For lamps I prefer to have the top part of the belly be a little flatter. (usually fits the shape of the shade better.) Glazing, a crystalline glaze, 6 copper oxide with 1 gram of ilmenite. I think I fitted this with gold hardware.
  8. *This is a lamp stand if you are wondering why there is such an unorthodox neck*

This green is something else. No color correction on this photo!
  10. There are days where I will have my laptop sitting behind me and have his videos playing while I throw. Something about that damn voice, makes you feel comfortable on the wheel.
  11. Only had two in this load that came out well. I'm definitely getting better at it. This was 1/3 white and 2/3 green.
  12. It's not as hard as people say, just do a lot of reading and learning before you try!
  13. Don't they! Thats what I always thought of with this glaze.
