Pres got a reaction from Hulk in Lower back has been nagging, trying more rest; cycling, construction and maintenance
Had 2 broken vertebrae when 19, wore a back brace 3yr, chest constrictor 2 yr. Back pain is not new, but found that push-ups, and other exercises alleviated the pain. When bad, wedging helped also, Hanging from an overhead bar and wiggling your hips help also. In the long run better muscles do the job, but the older we get. .. .

Hammer massager worked quite well, and not that I have one I use it on my shoulders and legs a bit after a hot shower. Loosens things up well. Just have to be careful not to over do.

Missed bowling 4 times last week, but I have seen much improvement, and am now walking upright with only some discomfort. Whoooow!

Hi Catherine, not quite sure how you ended up posting to my profile but you should start a new thread in Studio Operations and Making Work - https://community.ceramicartsdaily.org/forum/22-studio-operations-and-making-work/ should be an orangeish button saying "start new topic"

not at all, and I have missed two days of bowling so far this week. Working in the shop is really trying, as getting up and down has t have the hands. Haven't felt this bad since I was 19 after the car accident

Dang it! I started having a problem with my piriformis after my knee replacement last fall. That took lots and lots of stretching.
Take er easy!

Gert it healed up before throwing.I broke my arm in 2018and it was a 6 week heal time and the brake was minor.
The healed up arm is more important than pottery making

Thanks, Denice!
Cone offsets allow you to adjust the temp for any cone. So for instance if you notice it's firing too hot at cone 6 but not at cone 04, you adjust the temp for cone 6 without affecting any other cones.
Thermocouple offsets allow you to individually adjust the thermocouples if it's firing too hot or too cold at all temps, or if you notice that one section of the kiln is firing too hot or too cold. Larger kilns often need the bottom thermocouple adjusted to prevent the bottom from running cold.

What is the difference between cone offset and thermocouple offsets, I have never heard of offsets before. You live in a area that is closer to the manufacturer, the closest company who sold it was Brackers in Kansas City. You had to order it online and they didn't have the upgraded elements or Genisis controller on the order form. Their price was much higher than Neil's I wondered if they had given me the sale price. He recommended that I try to order it from them and pick it ourselves to save on freight. Kansas City is about 200 miles from us my husband said he wanted it shipped. Neil made it easy!

Pres reacted to Denice in Going to help with the adult class at the HS next 5-6 Saturdays.
I hope you have a good time. One summer I took a three day tile course at a junior college. We slept in a dorm at night and found our own meals during the day. I had been making tile for several years and thought maybe I could increase my knowledge on the subject. At the beginning of the first day I realized that I was mistaken. Most of the people there had never worked with clay. The class was doubled book and one of the teachers was sick. A overwhelmed teacher asked me if I would help with the class. I really enjoyed helping the students, I think I would have been bored out of my mind with the elementary presentations. Denice
