  4. Just got back from 3 weeks in Italy : wood firing at La meridian installed our group installation in the amphitheater, then took our work to a gallery in Faenza for a display, and presented talks at the Carlo Zauli Museum.Glad to be back home.

  5. Bought a used shop sink complete with stand and hardware for $20. Is everyone on vacation??

      Same here. I get more questions in my PM or direct email, than I do in the forum. Not exactly sure why, but I suspect most members do. Would imagine Mark gets alot of them given his production history.

      This forum is probably the largest repository of information on every aspect of all things ceramics. I suspect people are doing searches in lieu of asking questions. Of the 28,000 plus members, less than 100 post on a regular basis.

  9. its been a while, but how does one change the avatar?

    I noticed many people not using images. I have been searching for info on how to change avatar. Use to be easy..just "make this my avatar".

    So anyone know-how the new system allows changing the avatar?

  15. Successfully test fired the new kiln last night. :lol::lol:

  16. Leaving for NCECA early to visit my husband of the East Coast before going to Pittsburgh. Giving shoveling snow a rest.

      I may make Minneapolis next year, the wife has kin about 4 hours from there. Enjoy the  sprint and time with hubby.

  17. I threw my first bowl today on my new Pacifica wheel and my first ever porcelain bowl. :)

  18. just opened the glaze firing and am blown away by the pieces. Some will be refired to enhance the look!

  19. the geese are headed north in huge flocks but we still have a ton of snow and its -16 right now????

  20. fired my test kiln yesterday. Loaded at 23 degrees, went down to -6 overnight. Not in a heated shed. That little kiln is 20+ years old. Only replaced a switch on it over this time. I have a spare element in case I need it. It just has a cone sitter and timer. Its a Crucible from Seattle pottery.

  23. worked in the studio after finishing taxes this week. Preparing for the 3rd annual Ceramics Invitational at the Radius Gallery in Missoula in May.

  24. Firing kiln with a bunch of vases with my wood ash glazes and modified slips. Excited to see them tomorrow night.

      I think they are reasonable representations of wood fired pieces, fresh out of an electric kiln.
