  1. This was a listing on SLC's version of craigs list so you really never know what you are getting. She accepted an offer of 2000 that I am still considering. Ive pulled the prices for new items and it comes to 2800ish. I will for sure go check them out before I commit and that is a great point that its not just the cost of the unit but the vents and electrical etc. ps this community is great btw. Thanks to everyone for the wonderful insight
  2. what is nevada dan's? Also, I'm fairly gentle throwing. Far more than students would be. She is also selling a Cress Kiln and asking 1900 for it. its an LT-3K FX23P, retail I'm seeing it for 1500. What would be a good deal on this set?
  3. Nevada Dan's? Do you have a website or something? Googleing just brings up the state
  4. I'm looking to buy a wheel and have found one, it's a pacifica gt 400 and I've talked them down to 700. I am seeing them new online for 799. They say it has literally been used 3 times. Does anyone have any experience with pacifica products? I've only ever used Brent. Thanks!
  5. That is very helpful. Where ddi you find a used wheel and kiln? I've looked online likes craigslist and also school surplus and there isn't really a whole lot of selection though I imagine that changes constantly.
  6. I'm wondering if anyone has a conservative estimate on initial costs to start a small home based business. I'm looking as a basic setup: Wheel, Kiln, Glazes, studio supply etc. Thanks!
  7. Just as somewhat of an update, here are some spitball ideas. Let me know what you think on a professional/marketing level. ZachArt Ceramics/Pottery/Studio Horner Studios RavenTree Pottery Little Zach Horner's Pottery Corner
  8. My bread and butter is functional ware. High fire stoneware or porcelain. Mostly thrown with a bit of hand building. I totally agree that a name and brand should be something fairly permanent . My style is still not super well defined so I don't really think something along those lines would be good. My bread and butter is functional ware. High fire stoneware or porcelain. 9. I'm pretty new to the forums but have loved how awesome this community is! I'm looking to start a new business and am in need of a good name. I think this is easily the hardest part! MY name is Zach Horner and I'm in Salt Lake City Utah. I know its not much to work with . Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I've asked for feedback on ideas from friends and family but they don't seem to take it as seriously as I do. They generally come up with names like "smokin pots"... Please help you amazing community you!
